Did you hear what that Beech tree just said to that Birch tree? Regarding the little sapling growing up between them? The Beech tree said to the Birch tree, "Is that a son of a Birch tree or a son of a Beech tree?"
The Birch tree replied, "Why, I'm not sure if that's a son of a Birch, or a son of a Beech tree."
Just then a Woodpecker landed nearby, and the Birch tree said, "Let's ask that Woodpecker. He's a tree expert and would surely know if that's a son of a Birch tree, or a son of a Beech tree."
The Birch & the Beech trees said, "Hey there Woodpecker could you kindly tell us if this little sapling here is a son of a Beech tree or a son of a Birch tree?"
The Woodpecker flew down to the sapling pecked at it a couple of times and said, "It's neither a son of a Beech, or a son of a Birch tree...However, it is the best piece of Ash I've ever put my pecker in!"
